Confuse with After Market Header

so my buddy confuse me. He says some after market header have similar dimensions to the OEM exhaust Manifold (The inside of the pipes).

He suspects mine is of this kind.

His reason is I have a D16Y8 engine with stock exhaust system and there is no loud noise coming out the muffler. He said if I were to have DC header, my car will sound like there is a can rattle-ling.

Is this true???

or maybe because my engine is so small it wouldnt make noise...

I think any stock-piped car with a 'performance' muffler will sound rattly or ricey.. If thats what your asking. you will have to get bigger piping then put on a heaer.

A header with stock exhaust won't change the tone much....

actually now that i think of it, for the header to bolt right up to your stock exhaust, it would have to be reduced to stock diamter at some point

good point it most likely varies though.
