Engine sludge killer? Oil pan change advice

I'm replacing my oil pan because I just stripped the threading by accident. I'm assuming there will be some sludge to clean once the oil pan comes off. A HT memer recommended using brake cleaner. Does anyone have any advice for me? I would like to find a way to flush out any gunk that may be inside my engine block. I will have a rare opportunity to give my engine the TLC she needs. My d16y8 has about 115K miles. BTW, will a d16y7 oil pan work with my engine block?

the real question is why are you replacing the oil pan if one of the bolts is stripped?
