Gear stick ??

was having a look round the net for some pics of civics and i found one of this interior. What kind of a gear stick has it got and would it not mean a longer shift of the stick
Any of you guys ever use one ?

ediT- couldnt find his name.. but its just a shift extender. There are a few companies that make them. I dont really like my shifter being up that high personally, but some do.. Its just a preference thing

its not a longer shift , it just puts the shift knob closer to the wheel so when your on a circuit or something you dont have to have your hand off the wheel for as long
