OK, so here is what happened, tonight i was going to take my 1991 Honda civic lx 4dr out for a spin. So i get into the car turn it over and its starts to sputter a bit cuz it needs new plugs.. Anyhow so i give it some gas and rev it to about 4000rpm to get it goen. Then all of a sudden the rpm drop to 0 in the blink of an eye! So i apologised to my car for revving it so high then i go to re-start it, the starter comes on but sounds like it does not catch, i checked to see if it was turning the motor but it was not. Could i have broken my timing belt? thanx for your help!

did you check the battery? If its too low of a charge it won't start. You could always take off the valve cover and pull on the timing belt to see if it broke, but I doubt its broke, although I wouldn't completely rule it out.

i rilly think it is the timing belt because the moter is moving, but not the valves=( do you think that i it would be worth it to have a new timing belt put on?
