Led light won't fit socket?

I purchased some #74 led bulbs from mengmotorsports.com. I pulled to old bulb out of the socket, but no matter how hard I try, the bulbs won't fit into place. I have read the many gauge cluster led swaps and no one really mentioned having problems getting the bulbs into the sockets. Is there a trick to getting them to fit in?

not sure if you can just buy the sockets alone

i had the same problem. so i just went and bought the LEDs already in the sockets. superbrightleds.com is the place to be!!

you don't have to buy another led bulb again.. you just need to pull out the #74 led you bought and put into the old #74 socket gauge (brown one).... Done..

i had the same problem, so i went to this solution and everything is working just fine..
