My 1993 honda civic wont accelerate properly

I have a 1993 honda civic, i rencently replaced the ignition distributor. When im runing the car if i press the gas pedal too hard it wont acelerate it would decrease its speed. Does it have something to do with the distributor? Help! Thanks .

What made you decide to change the distributor? Did you change plugs and wires as well?

I repalced it because the car wouldnt start, no i just changed the distributor
