Alright so I picked up a bare 98 ex tranny with a pop out and it's dirty as hell but I'm gonna take it to someone who can clean it up so I can remove the bolts properly without risk of stripping them. I'm starting to have second thoughts on a d17y8 build though.. I'm thinking now of using an obd2 jdm d15 bottom end, using higher compression pistons or shave off the block and head to bump up the compression and just build the head for higher revving power? I'm really indecisive when it comes to these things lol I love the thought of a higher revving higher power d series that makes good power up top but the torque from stroking it seems pretty good as well.. i'm leaning more towards the d15b block now that I think about it more but I think I just need that extra push
