I just got my '94 Civic Ex Vtech. I'm planning to put some things on the exterior and ofcourse, engine wise also. However, I'm a little confused as to what exhaust system I should get.

I'm looking for a 'DEEP' sound exhaust that you would hear when I drive, not when the car is parked turned on, or just going 2 miles an hour. Please, if you have any sugestions as to what type of exhaust, even if its' a complete system sold for the specific car, let me know and where I can purchase it from.

Thanks

moving this to engine tech.

Mugen twinloop has a nice sound, not loud but is deep. The thermal stealth is like this also. I have a tanabe style muffler with custom mandrel bent 2.5 mandrel bent piping, It sounds nice, has a deep tone, and doesnt have that stupid coffee can rattle.

i had an STP exhaust...great deep sounding and loud...no rattles or weedeater sounds.

ive heard Greddy and Apexi are great exhausts.

if you get an exhaust...get the 2 1/2" catback, with either a greddy or Apexi muffler. if you want the whole exhaust system...that means you'll need headers too, those are around 300-500 dollars. i suggest either the DC 4-2-1 headers or the Greddy headers.

also to make the exhaust and engine sound eve better and to get a lot better performance...i suggest you get a AEM Cold Air Intake. if you get the headers, cold air intake, catback piping, and exhaust...you'll be set with the whole exhaust/intake process, which is a pretty good upgrade to your car...you will deffinetly feel the power and speed increase.

i looked up 94 civics...here is a store where you can buy exhaust systems/intakes...here are sites where you can check them out:

Exhaust:

Header:

Cold Air Intake:

remmember, cold air intake is the best...even though it will cost a little extra, it is worth it.

here are links to the items i suggest you get for best performance, reliability, and quality:

O yea i forgot to add that HKS has a really nice sounding exhaust. Anyways, If you dont want to dish out 4-500 bucks custom is cheap, and gives you just as much power as a complete catback system. But you have to get mandrel bent because the crush bent piping is no good. The Apexi N1 is pretty loud, and yes the greddy ones sound nice too. As for the Nopi site, They are expensive, and hardly ever have anything in stock.
www.tornactive.com is a pretty good site. Great customer service, and pretty good prices.

Good advice...

The last two replies were great. I myself have a Greddy Evo cat-back exhaust and a AEM cold-air intake. I'm planning to purchase a DC 4-2-1 header next. Don't waste your money on a Greddy header because the DC does the same job with less money. These are the manufacturers you want to be dealing with...they have lots of experience with their products. I know that if you go to www.greddy.com there is an option to find out their local dealers. Happy hunting.

Are there any exhausts out there that would be considered quiet (at least at idle and low revs), deep, and *not* throaty? I understand the vast differences in this comparison, but I've always liked the muted, deep sound of the stock exhaust on a Corvette. I also heard an aftermarket muffler (or whole exhaust) on a BMW that sounded similar, but I have no idea where it came from.

Oh, and hello everyone...this is my first post.

the answer to this is simple....rewire your o2 sensors remove the headers piping cat and muffler for a loud ass roar......the best way to do it..you wont have to spend any money, it reduces weight, .plus youll really expel gases that way!!! im telling you its the only way to go!!!
