Need some help...

when i was young and dumb i left wax on the car in one spot (dont know how i missed it) but i need help. is it just the clear or the base coat too. its rough to the touch

i dont think it has to do with leaving wax on the car cuz wax protects the paint from the sun.

my guess is that the clear coat is deteriorating. after that, the paint will begin to erode.

pretty much, its time for a new paint job sooner or later.

well the only reason i say the was is cause in some parts there are swirls from putting the wax on. i plan on painting it myself, the same color

Looks more like sun damage to me. Clear coat failure, which the only cure is repainting.
