We've got 14" of ice as of last weekend and cold temps should have only increased it now. These are insured events so lots of test holes get drilled.

Ice racing tires! Here's one of the fronts (250 studs)

The rears have around 225 studs each but are spread out more since they don't need as much bite.

These are ice racing studs that screw into whatever you want to. They have sharpened edges and are beveled inside to shed ice.

I'm stocked to see the CRX, I've missed it.

Got bored today so I painted the valve cover as a test to see what color I wanted to paint the cage. It's pretty close to Cusco blue.

Nice, we had a guy flip this year at our ice races here. First person to ever do it at this particular event.

The cause was the studded tires...... and he was going about 90mph. Sideways.

Liking your progress so far! Keep up the good work!

I just went ice racing for the first time last weekend, ssooooo much fun. There were 15 cars that raced with me and it was a 1 hour enduro race.

Sorry to Pimp my car in your thread, but these were from the ice races in January. Super fun so I'm right there with ya!

Next time you go out, try to get some vids. I'd LOVE to see those.

The bolt holes are there it's just hard to see. The top hats basically allow the shock to perform as it would at stock ride height, only while lowered. Lots of lowered cars have reduced shock travel so the shocks can't do their job as well.

We have a batch of warm weather this week so Ice racing may be done for the season :(
