buy or borrow a leak detect kit, it comes with a dye you put in the oil and a set of yellow glasses and a light,
clean the area really well with brake clean like said above and put dye in wait a day or so depending on how bad the leak is and check with the light, with the glasses and the light you use it shows exactly were the oil has came from or has gone to by making it like a bright neon green/yellow color when looked at and it really helps to pin point were,
