I can guarantee you it's much bigger in the Urban Black community. Just about everyone with a Caprice/Crown Vic/Cutlass/Regal/Monte Carlo/Suburban/etc. has to have these on their "whip".

although up to about 1950 the Maseratis did have them too. I dunno'

Buick held on to them until about 1980 and then re-introduced them on the GNX....except they were actually functional on the boosted Regal.
