Rims

Does anyone have any ideas on how to refinish the aluminum rims. I have bumped the curb on both front rims. I have sanded them smooth so it doesn't look terrible. I was trying to find a way to achieve the same finish that comes on the rims. I thought of jacking the tire up and using some sort of scribe (drill bit, punch, etc.) and slowly etch the finish back into the smooth spots.

No second thought, I'm beginning to think that it will be easier to sand the surface area of that part of the rim to a smooth finish.

I ended up taking some Bondo, smoothing it out, and painting / clearing them after it cured.. Obviously not the same, but they looked brand new after.
