Short Shifter Install???

No, it's too wide for the linkage. You need b-series linkage, which doesn't work on d-series motors.

nah imma go turbo on my single cam.

also i just bought the ebay short shifter

But it has been done. You would need to take a Dremel to it to make it the right diameter. But short shifters are cheap. My Ralco RZ was only $25 and has worked out pretty well so far. So while you could pick up a GSR pretty cheap I am not sure it is worth it when there are other options that require no modification.
