SlipStreams w/ a Red Lip

So I have a set of slipstreams that I just bought and will be getting tires for soon. Being that my car is black and all and the slips are flat black, I thought maybe it would look good if I painted the very edge of the rim a matching red color w/ the Si emblems etc.. I have managed to find this online, but its the only other pic of it done that I could find. And no, I'm not going for a time attack look or anything, just a little subtle touch like the red lip and the red lug nuts that are in the pics. Your thoughs?

You don't have to paint, they have pinstripe for this, so you can take them off whenever you want.

You should be able to find pin stripping kits at your local auto parts store

i'd say keep them as is, black slips on a FBP EJ8/EM1 is way clean. Throwing in the red lip really ruins the look. But all in all, if you like the look go ahead bro. GL

I think I'm going to go ahead and do em. The only other thing that I cant seem to figure out is what type of locking lug nuts I should run. Any thoughts on this as well? I want to get a set of red ones to match the pin strip on the lip. I would prefer the price to be a max of 80. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I myself haven't found a set of cheap "red" locking lugnuts, I had a set of "Visions" from eBay, which were okay but they weren't locking.

Anyone know how easily pin striping comes off? I'm concerned that it could get messed up when I get tires mounted on the rims. The tires wont be really low profile so they shouldnt be terrible to put on.

on my corvette ( i know ) i bought OEM factory wheels that came w the red pin stripe already. and i have washed my rims (hand) pretty hard a couple times and it doesnt come off. but thats OEM. im not sure a bout a kit.

I found some spray on spray paint from duplicolor that washes off w/ soap and water.

Bump for the pics I added. Also, does anyone know what is the rough color for type r and Si emblems and lettering? I'm hoping I can get something thats roughly the same color. And yes, I know its red, but I'm looking for something maybe a little more specific then that since there are lots of slight differences.

just use the red that is offered with the pin stripe tape... it is exactly the same.
