Spark Plug Tube Seals

I've been searching the internet but can't seem to find an answer.

which way are the spark plug tube seals supposed to be installed?

on my old valve cover, you can see the bump is facing out, but that seems wrong to me.

of all the pictures i've found on the web, it seems to be 50/50 either way, and i do have oil in one of the tubes, so i want to make sure i get it right the first time.

Do it just like the photo shows and when you install the valve cover before you tighten it down take a standard screwdriver to hold the gasket in place and work your way around the tube easing the gasket down with the back side of a pick or something. If you dont get the gasket around the tube it will split very fast and youll be back at square 1
