I am having some trouble with my 2000 vtec b16a. Was just home from a trip when lost power, turned out one of my plugs f**ked up and a piece broke off the electrode and got caught under one of the exhaust valves and made a big hole in it thus leaving me with zero compression in the cyclinder. Sent her off to the mechanic and got it all fixed up but ther is a tapping noise in the engine, he wreckons it is air in a tappet and will eventually go out of it &
Anybody ever had a problem like this ?

I assume you're talking about valve lash? If so, that's fixable with a feeler gauge, screwdriver, a wrench, and some time.

But valve lash is normal.

search my friend. Its the normal honda valve peek you here and then you need to adjust your valves.

No seriously, Its just tapping away as the engine runs, as the engine revs up it gets faster, when I let off on the gas you cant hear it !
