i bought a 2000 civic dx with a bad tranny pulled that opened it checked replaced ISB and i needed a differential bearing replaced so instead of getting a new diff bearing i opened a different s40 trans i had with a good differential but my question is why is it that both times I've opened the transmissions beads fall off of somewhere? first time i did it three beads fell and now on the second one, one fell out and the theres another sitting on the bottom of the case? any ideas? i know on the first one i had bad diff bearings so that figures but on the second one?

There's another bad bearing in the other trans somewhere. That's the only reason for little balls to be falling out when opened up. Mainshaft, countershaft, etc.

When you separate a transmission...nothing should fall out...
