It smokes on startup and has a mean tick but runs really well. Also has a small oil leak. Gotta get those few small issues figured out and get it cleaned up and a few small changes to make it mine and ill be happy with it for a daily driver!

So what was the grinding wheel for in the wheel pic?
I had the previous owner weld braces with the truck being fully lifted so it wouldnt blow a bag or leak down on the trailer. So i had to cut those out when it got to my house.

I still need to put the shocks back in it lol. Rides a little lofty in the rear.

So today i put rear shocks on the new mazda and unfortunately i cut a f**king brake line so its parked until i get back from north dakota.

So after i threw a little baby fit and calmed down i started working on the custom mods to my bed for the doored mazda.

I dont know if any of you remember what i was doing so ill fill everyone in again.

So i took a rear bumper off of a 1997 toyota 4runner and am going to be using that instead of a factory mazda bumper so that its tucked in and flush.

This required a bit of custom fabrication. Imagine that right? Lol

So i had to cut off the sheetmetal at the bodyline on the bed and the whole rear section of the bed.

Then mock up of the bumper showed i needed to stretch each side something like 7". So i sectioned 2 pieces to make one.

I did that on each side.

Then to fill the gap between the mazda tailgate and the 4runner bumper i cut the bottom section off of the liftgate and welded it to the mazda gate.

Now i just have to decide if i want to hard mount the bumper or have it removable...

But im happy with the progress for today ;)
