vtec wiring

im running d16y8 p28 ecu. hooked up vtec and car doesnt start. I checked the pins again for vtec and i believe A4 is for the vtec solenoid and D6 is for the vtec oil pressure switch. If the pins are wrong please let me know what the pins are. Its obd1.

unless you have a conversion harness or completely re-pinned the ECU clips, it won't run.

but isnt p28 obd1 and the harness i have now works with the p28. It runs fine, its just that i dont have vtec hooked up. Everytime i hooke up vtec it would still give me a cel. I dont get it.

a p28 is d16z6 ecu, which is also obd1. a d16y8 is obd2. So unless you have an obd1 car, and modified the harness on the engine to work with the obd1 car then that explains why it isn't working...
