wheel damage

HI to all......just 1 question.I got a 94 civic sedan...cmes out with 13inc rims,,,i put on 15 inch recently and my right wheel bearing just popped...Can a rim's size play a part in damaging the bearing....?

oh yes it sure can....

i had heavy ass 16's on my last car, and both the rear bearings had to be changed.

You have to remember that the factory bearings will wear out in time anyhow... but add the factor of heavier wheels... and they will burn out quicker...

sell your 15's and get some light wheels like volk's(expensive, but real) or even rota's (cheap, and effective)!!

well how much do your 15s weigh? i mean other things can play a part in it too..

my uncle also has a 94 sedan, and one of his rear ones went. but he has nothing done to the car. :?

well, your bearings are only going to last so long, even if you dont do anything to your car. it really depends on how many miles you go, and the weather plays a factor to.

yeh i know they go bad. i was just using my uncle's car as an example to say maybe his 15"s didn't cause it. maybe it just went cuz it was time.

well my 17's are lighter then my stock tires and hubs
good for you.... all 17's are not as light as yours!!!

bearings will wear out in time... but if they are over stressed, they will wear out quicker!!!

i think the weight of the car has more to do with the bearings going bad, than the weight of your wheels does.
