Where to buy OEM timing belt kit?

I'm going to replace the timing belt in my 2000 Civic EX auto, D16Y7 and I was hoping to find an OEM kit which includes the belt, tensioner, idler, and maybe the accessory belt and water pump all together. Does anybody know of any online store that sells OEM timing belt kits or do I have to piece together these parts from a website?

Any other recommendations? Thanks!!

yeah, if you want to pay ~$30 -- $70 more per part.

Go to an auto parts store. Third party companies make parts to OEM specifications, so they're just as good.
I'm sorry, but I would NEVER replace something as important as a timing belt with some aftermarket part just to save a few bucks.

If it is a safety item or something that could leave you stranded on the side of the road, I ALWAYS recommend to go oem.

If you don't want to go through the dealer go online to a place like majestic or 1hondaparts.com.

With something like a belt, aftermarket is just as good as OEM. If you go to any normal auto parts store and get a brand name that you've heard of, you're going to be fine. Honda doesn't actually make their own belts, they just order them from those same aftermarket companies with a Honda imprint. I agree with what you are saying on certain things but with a belt you're getting the same thing.

My dad used to work for an OEM Honda supplier, Honda just sends over specs and QC's them (sometimes) but the aftermarket parts that are made go through the same process.

To be honest, I still wouldn't. Not for something that is only $40. I would use a cheap one for a drive/accessory belt but not for a timing belt that is somewhat a pain in the ass to get to. Especially not for the money. Not worth it to me to risk it to save a dollar.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'd still like to avoid going with aftermarket unless someone knows of a reputable supplier. I've heard way too many horror stories of aftermarket belts breaking at 30k miles or so. So does Honda not offer an OEM kit that includes the essentials?

There are a couple of sites I have used to purchase OEM parts and they are pretty reputable and have decent prices on the parts. Here are the ones I have used in the past with no problems whatsoever.

Yea they do not offer any "kits" per say, but I can lean you towards what to buy. I would change all the belts (A/C, alternator and power steering belt), timing belt, tensioner, water pump, camshaft seal and oil pump seal. And that should be pretty much it. It may seem like a lot of things to change, but believe me its worth it, you do it once and leave it alone until its due for it again. At least that is the way I see it. Good luck to ya =)

I was definitely planning to replace the seals as well. Is #17 in this diagram the oil pump seal that you were referring to?

I can't seem to find the front crankshaft seal on ANY of the parts diagrams for my 2000 2-door EX with ABS. Anyone know where I could find one? It's not shown on these diagrams:

The oil pump seal and the front crankshaft seal are the same thing. Confusing huh? I was looking for the front crankshaft seal a couple weeks ago and it took me forever to find it.
