Whining noise coming from under hood.

I drive my 1993 Civic on long trips. Last long trip on the way back just after Christmas, something happened under the hood and now it makes a whining sound similar to the sound made when power steering is low or the pump has gone. I have been driving it around town since and everything works fine, just a whiny sound coming from the engine compartment. I can't figure out what is making it. Any help is much appreciated.

It could be a bad bearing from one of the accessories, I would guess its most likely the A/C idler pulley.
Does it happen whenever you drive and idle, if so, can you open the hood and try to figure out where the sound is coming from?
