Overheating , and not sure why?

Well , a new twist that may help me with nthe diagnosis of my overheating issue . The weather here has just taken a turn for the worse , and the temps have dropped to below freezing . Now , the car does not overheat , and isn't even losing coolant . I am thinking that I may have a plugged rad ...

Overheating , and not sure why?

Already changed it , along with the t-stat . I have looked at the basics already . I am familiar with how the cooling system works , but I am not overly familiar with the little nuances of the Honda . I'm just hoping to get some thoughts from people who have been there before .

Overheating , and not sure why?

Thanks , everyone for your input . Going camping with my son this weekend , so I will be tackling this next week in my driveway (wish I had a garage , but couldn't afford a house with one when I bought this house). I have some of the acid for the rad at work . Any hints on how to loosen off the...

overheat engine problem solved 2001 civic civics

Here's the problem with mixing coolant at anything other than a 50/50 mix . Anti freeze is designed to work with water to raise the boing point and lower the freezing point . Both on their own do not work very well , but together they work great . The mixture percentage changes the properties of...

Overheating , and not sure why?

I have a 92 civic hatch , with the 1.5 16valve enngine (D15) . My wife called me about 2 months ago while she was driving to work and told me the car was spewing steam and overheating . I went out and checked and found the coolant was very low . I topped it up and bled it out throught the...

How to replace right tie rod

Being a mechanic , and specializing in front end and suspension , my first thought was - What the hell is he doing with a grinder? But as I looked on , I understand now . Glad it all worked out for you!

VTEC head on a B18b engine

After doing some reading of other posts , it does seem better to forget the VTEC , if I want to turbo . I have the B engine , and had read an article about doing the swap , and was wondering about the logistics of it all . I think I will more than likely just rebuild the engine with the quality...

VTEC head on a B18b engine

I appreciate opinions as much as anyone , but I asked for tips and pointers on the engine I am getting and the car I already have . I am building the engine myself , and was hoping to avoid any pitfalls some one else may have encountered . I also appreciate that there are alot of people out...

VTEC head on a B18b engine

Thanks - I was reading the link from USDM EJ6's post , and was starting to come to the same conclusion . This is what I wanted - advice on what I got , not someone telling me to run what they think I should run . I do appreciate it . I realize that most of the people who post on here are not the...

VTEC head on a B18b engine

Again , I don't need people telling me what to buy or what engine to run - I just want pointers on this mod . As it is , I already have a v-8 vehicle . And I am not trying to do this quick , I know its going to take a while - that's part of the fun . Please - just pointers and advice on the build !

VTEC head on a B18b engine

I know its not just bolt on and go , but being a professional mechanic for the last 16 years , I know that I have the tools and the skills needed to do the job . The reason I am using the B18b engine is because I already have it (well , sort of , its in my buddy's car - I just have to pull it!)...

...and another one bites the dust.

You can usually buy the car back from the insurance company for what they will sell it for scrap .

VTEC head on a B18b engine

Got a 92 Civic hatch with a D15b7 engine , and I am going to slam in a B18b from a 91 Teg . This engine is , of course , a non-VTEC engine (rated 130HP) . Althought the little bit of extra horses is nice , its just not nearly enough . I came across an article online about making what they called...

How to replace timing belt on '92 LX

When I bought my 92 , it had 280000Km on it , and I replaced my belt as soon as I could , as the girl I got it from said she had never done it in over 2 years . I found it very easy , but the difference between me doing it and you doing it is that I am a professional mechanic , and did it all at...

    92 civic si turbo

The only thing you may need to be aware of on stock engine would be the toothpick-like connecting rods . They are only good up to the 200HP range , and even then , that may be pushing it .
