Hong Kong uses bamboo as well. easy to setup and take down. not as heavy as steel scaffolding.

My dad and I have always wanted to build our own houses from an empty lot to finished product one day.
But for now, I'll stick to buying/rehabbing/selling

That does not help your case any. I would rather have steel scaffolding that I know will not break rather than bamboo. Safety standards
bamboo is pretty strong and steel is known to break before. I guess it is a cultural thing
No way in hell I'd attempt to build my own house, or do anything more than extremely minor repairs or installs lol. But, when I was younger I wanted to be an Architect. I've taken a few classes before and I hope to eventually design my own home.
you should see the footwear the guys i hired was wearing to do some of the hard lacky work.
