I've had an AEM cold air intake in my car for about 8 months now. I'm wondering, when should I have my air filter cleaned? I can't even see the air filter, so I don't know if it's dirty or not.

8 months, yea you should clean it. Any ways, you should be able to tell just by looking at the filter, its very obvious.

Yeah, if it looks black instead of the original pinkish color you should clean it. Just pick up some k&n filter cleaner at like autozone for 10 bucks. That reminds me, I should probably clean mine soon.

Quick stupid question....how do I remove my car's bumper? I have a 2000 Civic. I bought the K&N Recharger and I need to remove my bumper to gain access to my air filter. Thanks.

wouldn't it be easier to take the CAI itself off???

I don't know....would it? I'd rather just somehow gain access to the air filter without taking CAI out.

Well, I didn't install the CAI in myself, so I don't really trust myself in putting it back together properly. Removing the bumper isn't hard, is it? And HOW do you remove it? Just wondering.

TheForever...just buy a K&N filter...and screw APC. K&N is the real stuff...APC can't go near touching it! Get an AEM CAI...they are cool! 170 bucks!
