96-98 Mugen Lip - Genuine, rarely any if any were made replica's
99-00 Mugen Lip - Genuine, very desirable and rarer; in front has a plaque/emblem, this is one of the main keys to set it off from replicas, or unless somebody didn't install them so nobody tries to steal their lip.

Part of it has to do with the fact it's the most common lip being put on the 96-98's now.... It's usually executed poorly. It's a replica not meant for the same bumper, it doesn't blend well. The 96-98 bumper doesn't have the outer fog-light ducts which make the 99-00 mugen look so well. This is my opinion, if you love it, then you love it that's you.

The bumpers are not the same at all besides where they mount in the corners at the fenders.
The center grill section are different, the upper grill is different, no fog light sections on the 96-98 (fogs mount in the center) there is a recessed lower portion on the 96-98 instead of a sloping edge, lip mounting points aren't the same, headlight cut outs are different, the two different bumpers mindf*ck you. Just saying.
You can love your replica all say, but don't get facts screwed up.

On a 96-98 civic, the stupid mugen replica lip is replicating the wrong damn lip. How the hell can that look the same or similar. Also, if you knew how a genuine mugen lip for 99-00 you'd understand just how off the replica for that one is. Enjoy your replica but buy some glasses, get contacts, a seeing eye dog or something
