Ok, finally fixed it, after taking the lower dash out and using a mirror to see every single number on the thing, giving them to sk8shorty and plugging them in, only to lock up the headunit and having to reset it; then finally taking the whole thing out and getting the right number it's finally working again. There are a lot of different things on the net that say where the radio is. If you can't find the number on a sticker in the car somewhere or have it on file, you'll need to get the serial number and go to honda.

1. The radio serial number on a 2000 civic is on a white sticker on the top or bottom of the radio, you NEED to take the radio out to see it, then give it to honda and they'll give you the code for free. Taking the dash out is pretty simple, this site has a good pdf on how to do it:

http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Honda/PDF/466005.pdf

If you take it honda without taking the radio out they'll charge you for taking the radio out.

2. Most hondas older than 2000 will use a type 1 radio, that you can get the serial number by pressing the 1 and 6 preset buttons together then turning it on, and the number should show up. Then you can get someone that works for honda to get you the code. I got that info from http://www.radio-code.com/Honda-Pay-Page-radio-code-NEW-proced.htm

3. If you type in the wrong code too many times, it will lock up and say error-e or something like that. You won't be able to type any numbers in to get the code. To reset it, unplug BOTH battery cables and let it sit for about a minute, and plug them back on. This will put you back to the previous stage where you'll have more tries to enter the code.

4. The number that is pressed on the BACK of the radio is NOT it. I gave sk8shorty that number, thinking it was the serial, but it wasn't. It still gave me back two 5 digit codes that looked like they would work, but they didn't.

Heres where the sticker was on mine, it might be on the top on yours.

Thanks again to sk8shorty for the help!
