ok so the knock sensor is used for the vtec correct? or am i wrong....none the less...is it bad to drive around with a bad one? becuase mines f**ked up and its 100 bucks and wont be in till at least tomorrow, but can i drive with it messed up?
From what my auto trades teacher told me, the knock sensor consists of an enclosed crystal that when disturbed by knocking sends a signal to I guess the ecu and retards the timing. So I'm thinking if you have a bad one, your timing could be screwed, which if I'm not mistaken affects your mpg and more importantly the overall wellbeing of the engine.
