Hi guys I have a 1999 Honda civic lx with 165000 miles on it. Recently I have been having a problem with it that the rpm drops bellow 1000 when I am driving and as well as when I stop. It does it when it wants but it's becoming a hassle.

Things I have done
Changed the air filter
New spark plugs and wires
New distributer cap and rotor
I switched from 87 gas to 91 and added lucas fuel treatment

Anyone have any idea what can cause this?

OP there are numerous reasons as to why this could be happening. A better description of the situation would make a world of difference. Idle issues are commonly derived down to a fault in the vacuum system such as a bad IACV, emissions leaks, vacuum leaks.

It would help if you gave the right acronym lol.

IACV is what you're looking for. OP - Idle Air Control Valve.

Also, go back to 87 gas, you're just wasting money going to 91.
