So I had an extra BlackBerry Curve 8900 that I posted on Facebook’s marketplace a little while ago. Below is a conversation between myself and “a buyer”.

... What a little b***h. He deleted the account which was under the name "Rose [last name]" and she apparently lived in the US.

The second you see the word "Africa", you definitely know you have a scammer. You should have shipped him the box though (even though it would cost some money..) and put a nice (air-tight) bag of s**t in there.

my female firend recently got scammed 2900...some guy in newyork sent her money for tutoring his "son" in LA. He wanted her to send back 2900 in cashier or something idk. logn story short, she went to the police dept and post office and she got NYPD to do an investigation on the scammer. The address appears to be a closed down john deer factory -.- . anyways my firend got the post office of the area code of teh scammer to keep on a lookout for that cashier check that she sent so they can prevent it from being delivered.. so far no word yet but we are all hopeful seh can get her moeny back.

youre first clue to being scammed was in the very first message. they always call whatever you are selling "the item". never by what it is. i see it everytime i post something on craigslist.. "can you send the item to ..."
