Our '98 Civic EX sedan with 90k has fresh 5W-30 in it at the right level. When we cold start it is kind of ticks and knocks slightly the first min. of running. Once warm it is quiet. Is this something to be concered about?

Ya my heat sheild rusted off so maybe next summer I should heat wrap the stock manifold to keep under hood temps down?

WOW checked tightness of upper bolts on heat sheild and they were fine. Still had the rattle so pulled the sheild off and the WHOLE bottom braket rusted off!!

What bushings are you refering too? Are they behind the exhuast, when under the car?? I just tried AGAIN to lube the shifter with Liquid wrench and the shifter is now REAL STIFF!!:evil:

I have a 6th gen. 1.6 SOHC VTEC in a '99 EX sedan 5-speed and I think the heat sheild is rattling. Can I just tightten it? Should I use a lock washer or Locktight?

Fogs Ya the fogs have plastic lenses and they are mad pitted from road debris. I tried a Dremel tool with buffing wheel with PlastX to get it off, and it did not work. Went to polishing compound and still no good, oh well! :roll: That is why I want too try Plexus! ;)

Could not find Plexus! I tried to get Plexus EVERY where but NO ONE had it!! PlastX is only $5.00 a bottle so I tried it. Where do you get yours, online they want like $20 a can!! :shock:

I heard from a SAAB guy that the Plexus stuff is the bomb. I could not find it so I used Meguiar's PlastX on the headlight covers on our '99 EX sedan. WOW what a diff. took ALL the yellowing out and they look like new. Does a great job on ANY see through plastic!! :D

I did it with DOT3 casue my girl drives it and NOT HARD!! DOT3 absorbs moisture slower. Went like a dream thanks for the help, petal feels MUCH better now. At what mileage should I check the rear drums on the car?
